Turning Sheets Into Cans - Part 5
Four pretty nice partial beer can panels, but still panels,
NOT rolled beer cans. Now who do we get to professionally cut the
panels into correct size sheets, roll them into cylinders, and add proper
top and bottom lids? Weeks go by with unreturned phone calls and emails
to couple of people who may be able to do the job. No luck.
Finally, Jack gets the name and email address of Phil Pospychala out of
Illinois who has rolled cans for many years. A couple of very helpful and prompt email
exchanges with Phil and we have a deal arranged. Phil will cut and roll
the sheets into cylinders, and Fred Goerlach out of Massachusetts
will apply the correct top and bottom lids from donor cans.
Note that Jack Lucas was able to supply enough donor cans to provide correct vintage top and bottom lids. Thus, our finished rolled Regal Pale Bocks have great looking lids, not the new bright and shiny lids that appear on too many other rolled cans. The story of how Jack came across enough nice vintage donor cans is a separate story... Since I had taken pictures of everything else with this project, might as well take pictures of the packages leaving my house! |
