Plans For The Finished Cans

Hopefully the details about our find is an interesting read, but since "How can I get one of those cans" is probably the first question on the minds of many, here is our answer for all to read.

Our plans all along have been to document the find and publish full details before doing anything with the cans. Still, we have received a handful of inquiries about the cans even BEFORE we told anyone about the find!!! This is fully understandable, since the Regal Pale Bock is a really tough can in ongrade condition, and our finished cans turned out really sweet! Heck, if I heard of someone finding quantity of Altes Sportsman Ale or Goebel Guinness cans I would be contacting them on the spot.

While we appreciate the interest in the cans, at this time we have no definite plans on what to do with them. I (Randy) have never had any decent trading stock, and my first thought is to sit on these trying to trade for Michigan variations I need for my collection. Will this be possible, I don't know, but absolutely no hurry to unload these cans. I will at least bring a couple of them to Blue/Gray in February for possible trade. Remember, Jack and I are splitting these 50-50, so he may have some for trade/sale as well.

Also, please note that we do have significant time and $$$ into this project! Cost of the initial purchase, major labor hours to take the chest apart, and costs for the donor cans. Even with Phil's and Fred's very reasonable costs to cut, roll and lid the cans, having work done on this quantity definitely added up quickly as well. Please understand if we don't let loose of these cans "cheaply". Thank you.
