Brewery listed as "St Ides Brewing Co, Detroit, MI" but produced by Stroh after purchase of Heileman. Per Ed Stroh, this brand was basically a marketing exercise and shorted live, likely due to the following. St Ides Gold was the sponsor of the Tyson/Holyfield fight in Las Vegas in which Tyson bit Holyfield's ears, with the fight being called in the third round. With the near riot after the fight and negative publicitly, no surprise the brand was very short lived. FYI: A 16oz can was also produced, and pictures are needed for MBC content |
