Paper label prototype can. While this is a paper label wrapped around some unknown 12oz pull tab, this "can" has been included with MBC content for the following reasons: - Can manufacturer sticker on the bottom, giving some insight into the process from design to real printed can. Remember, 1971 was pre-computer days and likely much more costly to iterate through different designs. Click here for picture of the can manufacturer stamp.
- The prototype is from American Can Company, 1971. All other Geyer's cans are from Crown Cork and Seal.
- The date of this prototype is 1971, with only real Geyer's can actually filled (black/white Bavarian Light beer) not coming until 1973. It is interesting to this author how radically different this prototype is from the can designs that actually made it to production
