  Schmidt was among the brewers that were able to survive prohibition (formerly Schmidt Products), and begin brewing again with strong sales soon after repeal. However, facing increasing competition after WWII, they were forced to stop brewing in 1951, with brand name being acquired by E&B Brewing Company.
